Her Story

About Meagan

Meagan Hamblin serves as a Consultant in the Medical Affairs Advisory Group at Syneos Health. She began her role in June 2024 after approximately three years at Eversana Consulting. Prior to entering the pharmaceutical industry, Hamblin worked as a research associate for two years at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, where she conducted bench science focused on molecular mechanisms of infectious diseases. She then pursued and completed a PhD at Stanford School of Medicine over seven years of graduate study. In her current consulting position, Hamblin assists pharmaceutical and biotech clients with commercialization strategies, prepares literature summaries and analyses, supports advisory board meetings with leading experts, and contributes to launch and brand planning. Her remote role allows her to engage with a diverse range of clients, from large pharmaceutical organizations to small emerging biotechs. Hamblin transitioned from academia to industry to help communicate scientific breakthroughs more effectively to physicians and patients, addressing gaps in awareness of new treatments and clinical options.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Meagan

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Not all advice is good advice. Take advice under advisement, listen and take it into account, but just because someone gave you that advice doesn't mean you have to do it. You gotta do what feels right for you.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

If you are interested in biology, keep an open mind. Don't walk yourself into it has to be an MD. When getting a PhD, don't assume you have to be a professor. Stay open and learn about as many different types of jobs and roles as you can before you decide this is the next job that I have to do.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

More and more average patients and consumers are becoming health-conscious and health-aware. People want to understand the science and are asking more questions, which is a net positive for society and the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity and kindness. In science or medical roles, uphold truthfulness and verifiability back to the data. Give everyone grace and understanding, be kind and be on the same team.
