About Mechelle
I began my coaching journey as a Performance Coach for a company I was working with, and witnessing the transformation in the lives of those I coached ignited a passion that changed the direction of my career. Seeing people gain confidence, overcome obstacles, and reach their potential inspired me to pursue coaching on a deeper level. In 2017, I earned my Life Coach Certification, and in 2019, I expanded my expertise by becoming a certified Master Life Coach and Trainer.
Since then, I have developed a comprehensive Life Coaching Career Course and have spent the past 10 years certifying life coaches who are now making an impact in their own communities. As the Chief Curator of Embrace You Coaching, I design and curate all of our educational programs. We currently offer eight transformational courses, each of which I have personally written and developed.
With a degree in Education and certification in curriculum development, I intentionally create learning experiences that combine academic excellence with practical application. My courses are often described as having the depth and structure of a college-level program while remaining engaging, transformational, and applicable to everyday life. Beyond curriculum development, I also train and mentor the coaches who graduate from our programs, equipping them to confidently facilitate and teach others.
My greatest passion is helping leaders heal from past trauma so they can become healthier, more effective leaders. I believe that when leaders experience personal healing, they lead from a place of wholeness rather than woundedness. My mission is to help people live well and lead whole.
One of my proudest professional accomplishments is certifying more than 200 life coaches and creating the transformational curricula that continue to equip leaders in ministry, business, and the community.
Dr. Myles Munroe once said that you should be able to summarize your life in one sentence. Mine is this:
"I am created to be to others what no one was for me."
There was a time in my life when I lacked the knowledge, the language, the support, and the guidance I needed to navigate the challenges I was facing. I know what it feels like to struggle in silence, and I made a commitment that no one connected to my purpose would have to walk through their journey alone if I could help it. That commitment continues to inspire everything I build, every leader I develop, and every life I have the privilege to impact.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success first to my faith in God. My relationship with Him has been the foundation that has sustained me through every challenge, every transition, and every opportunity. I believe that my purpose is bigger than my profession, and that perspective keeps me grounded and focused on serving rather than simply succeeding.
I also attribute my success to resilience. My journey has not been without adversity, but I have learned that the greatest lessons often come through the greatest challenges. Every obstacle has strengthened my character, expanded my capacity, and deepened my compassion for the people I have the privilege to serve.
Another key to my success is my commitment to being a lifelong learner. I never want to be the smartest person in the room. I invest in my own growth through education, certification, reading, research, and practical experience because I believe that if I stop growing, I stop serving at my highest level.
Finally, I attribute my success to living by the mission that guides my life: "I am created to be to others what no one was for me." Everything I build, every curriculum I write, every coach I train, and every leader I develop is driven by that purpose. My success is not measured by awards or recognition, but by the lives that are transformed because someone believed in them, equipped them, and reminded them that healing and purpose are possible.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received came from one of my college professors. In 2004, after I started my event planning company, he asked me, "Do you make good money doing it?" I told him I did. He smiled and said, "If you make good money doing it, you'll make even more money teaching it."
That simple piece of advice changed the trajectory of my career. It shifted my mindset from simply building successful businesses to creating systems that empower others to succeed. Since then, I have intentionally turned my knowledge, experience, and expertise into educational programs and curriculum that equip others with the tools to build their own success.
Today, that philosophy is at the heart of everything I do. Whether I am developing leadership courses, certifying life coaches, or training facilitators, my goal is not just to do the work well but to teach others how to do it with excellence. I believe true success isn't measured by what you accomplish alone, but by how many people you equip to accomplish it after you.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the coaching and leadership industry is to focus on becoming before you focus on building. In a world that celebrates visibility, don't neglect your personal growth. Invest in your healing, your education, your character, and your relationship with God. Who you become will always sustain what you build.
Never stop learning. Credentials may open doors, but competence, integrity, and consistency will keep them open. Be a student of your craft, seek mentors who will challenge you, and don't be afraid to invest in your own development before expecting others to invest in you.
Also, don't build your career around trends. Build it around purpose. Your greatest influence will come from solving real problems and serving people well. Stay authentic, remain teachable, and remember that comparison is the thief of purpose. There is room for your voice because no one else has your story, your perspective, or your assignment.
Finally, success is not about becoming the only one who can do what you do. It's about creating opportunities for others to grow alongside you. Build with excellence, lead with integrity, and always leave people better than you found them. That's the kind of legacy that lasts.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in the coaching industry right now is the low barrier to entry. While I believe coaching is a powerful profession, the ease of becoming a coach has created a marketplace where many people are coaching from passion without the preparation, education, or experience necessary to create lasting transformation. As a result, the credibility of the profession can sometimes be questioned.
At the same time, I believe this presents one of our greatest opportunities. People are more aware than ever of the importance of emotional wellness, personal growth, leadership development, and healing. They are looking for coaches who are not only compassionate but also competent. This is an opportunity for well-trained, ethical coaches to raise the standard of the profession by committing to continuous learning, evidence-based practices, and transformational results.
I also believe there is a tremendous opportunity to integrate coaching into every sphere of influence—not just business, but education, ministry, healthcare, nonprofit organizations, and corporate leadership. Coaching is no longer a luxury; it is becoming an essential tool for developing healthy people and effective leaders.
My commitment is to continue raising the standard by developing coaches who are equipped with both the heart to serve and the skills to lead. When we prioritize excellence, integrity, and transformation, we don't just change individual lives—we strengthen families, organizations, and communities.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide both my work and my personal life are faith, integrity, excellence, compassion, and service.
My faith in God is the foundation of everything I do. It shapes my decisions, defines my purpose, and reminds me that leadership is first about stewardship. I don't strive to build a platform; I strive to make an impact.
Integrity is non-negotiable for me. I believe your character should speak before your credentials ever do. Whether I'm coaching, teaching, leading, or serving, I want my words and my actions to align.
Excellence is another core value. I believe that people deserve our best, which is why I am committed to creating high-quality curriculum, developing competent leaders, and continually investing in my own growth. Excellence isn't about perfection—it's about honoring people by giving them your very best.
Compassion is at the heart of my work. Because of my own life experiences, I understand the importance of being seen, heard, and supported. That perspective fuels my passion for helping leaders heal from past trauma so they can live well and lead whole.
Above all, I value service. I believe our greatest success is found in the lives we help transform. Every course I create, every coach I certify, and every leader I mentor is an opportunity to fulfill the mission that has become my life's purpose: to be to others what no one was for me.
