Her Story

About Medinah

Medina serves as an executive collaborator and event specialist. She works full-time at one of the largest churches in Nashville in a non-profit capacity, managing teams and handling logistics, day-to-day operations, budgets, and timelines while collaborating with marketing, media, and production professionals. In addition, she owns and operates her event planning business, branded exclusively Medina or exclusively M, for about 15 years, overseeing events from initial vision through execution. Her professional journey began in hospitality working in hotels from age 18 to 26, transitioned into real estate where she worked as an agent for 10 to 12 years and taught classes for first-time homebuyers, and evolved into event planning. She holds education from Jenkins High School in Savannah, Georgia, class of 1992, two years at Savannah State University in Savannah, real estate school, and an event planning class. Medina attributes her success to being a blessing in others' lives by helping them improve their circumstances, and she advises young women entering the industry to have no fear, remain true to themselves, believe in themselves, seek God's guidance, and be kind to people along the way. She is also developing a non-profit initiative called Women Nurturing Women focused on helping homeless women.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Medinah

01What do you attribute your success to?

Being a blessing to somebody else's life is rewarding when someone can say that I've helped them do something to make their lives better. That you can't money can't buy that.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don't have no fear, even when you get older. Just remain who you are. That God has put something inside of you that's just for you. Nobody can be you but you. You must believe in yourself first. And you must have the guidance of God. And you have to be kind to people along the journey.
