Her Interview
Ten minutes with Meena
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the values instilled by my parents, the unwavering support of my family, especially in balancing career and motherhood, and the mentors who believed in me and created opportunities for growth. I also recognize the importance of being prepared when opportunities arise. Success is often a combination of hard work, strong support systems, good mentorship, and being willing to take advantage of the right opportunities at the right time.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Skills are cheap, Passion is priceless.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the technology industry is to think of your work as a long-term career, not just a job. Invest in developing your skills, continuously learn, and focus on building expertise that will create opportunities for growth and leadership over time.
Financial independence is one of the most important forms of empowerment. Prioritize building a career that gives you confidence, choices, and the ability to make decisions on your own terms. Never underestimate the value of investing in yourself and your future.
Do not let societal expectations, family responsibilities, or self-imposed limitations define what you can achieve. Every woman’s journey is different, and there is no single path to success. Define your own goals, understand what matters most to you, and make career and life decisions that align with those goals.
My advice is to establish your own aspirations and ambitions first, and then build the rest of your life around them. Seek mentors, be open to opportunities, take calculated risks, and don't be afraid to step outside your comfort zone. The confidence to pursue your goals and the financial independence to support them can be truly life-changing.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in the technology industry today is identifying and developing genuine talent. With the rise of AI-assisted tools and increasingly competitive hiring markets, it can sometimes be difficult to accurately assess skills, experience, and problem-solving abilities. Organizations are being challenged to look beyond resumes and focus on real capability, adaptability, and continuous learning.
Another challenge is ensuring that artificial intelligence is used as a tool to augment human potential rather than simply as a means to reduce workforce costs. The most successful organizations will be those that leverage AI to increase productivity, innovation, and creativity while continuing to invest in people, skills, and leadership development.
At the same time, there has never been a greater opportunity for learning and career growth. When I started my career, access to technical training, certifications, mentors, and learning resources was much more limited. Today, high-quality educational content, online communities, certifications, and technology platforms are readily available to anyone willing to invest time and effort into learning.
This democratization of knowledge has created tremendous opportunities for aspiring professionals. Individuals can now build expertise, gain certifications, and develop valuable skills from almost anywhere in the world. For those who are curious, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning, the opportunities in technology today are greater than ever before.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide me most, both personally and professionally, are honesty, integrity, respect, and passion. I believe in being honest with myself and with others, even when conversations are difficult. Integrity means doing the right thing consistently, not only when it is convenient but especially when no one is watching.
I also believe strongly in treating every individual with respect, regardless of their gender, race, background, or title. Respect begins with self-respect, knowing your worth, maintaining healthy boundaries, and extending the same courtesy and dignity to others.
Finally, I believe passion is essential in both work and life. Passion drives continuous learning, resilience during challenges, and the motivation to create meaningful impact. Whether leading teams, mentoring others, or spending time with family, I strive to bring energy, purpose, and authenticity to everything I do.
