Her Interview
Ten minutes with Meg
01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I ever received was when I wasn't really liking my job straight out of law school and I was wanting to pivot, and someone told me to focus on what I find interesting and what I am good at, and the rest will fall into place. The money will come, the success will come. But if I wake up every day dreading work, then I'm gonna have a hard time being successful. So to find something that I'm excited about will actually help me in the long run, even if it's a rocky path to get there. Focusing on something I'm interested in, that way it doesn't feel like work.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say advocate for yourself. Always trust your gut. And just know that if you work hard, you can always ask for more.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I appreciate someone being genuine and trustworthy. And I appreciate someone having the others back. In a remote world, it's really easy to feel like you might have a colleague who you see once in a blue moon, but every time you do, you just know that they have their back, they're looking out for you, and that they're willing to help you learn and become a better person within the field. I feel like I've really found that at Consilio. I think just being a genuine, good person and valuing connectivity and making those relationships important is really big for me.
