About Megan
Megan Donnelly works in utility billing technology sales at Invoice Cloud, where she has been employed for nearly two years. She began her role there as a scheduler for business meetings and sales before being promoted eight months ago to fully close deals and manage her own billing cycle. A graduate of business school, Donnelly was a competitive swimmer throughout her life and swam in college, which fostered her love for teamwork and connecting with others as an extrovert. She draws strength from mentorship and community, particularly leaning on older women in sales to navigate challenges in a male-dominated industry. Donnelly serves as secretary of the LGBTQ community at Invoice Cloud and participates in events such as the Pride Parade. Her volunteer background includes Best Buddies and the Boston LGBTQ swim team, and she maintains close connections with former swim teammates who attended business school with her.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice is to give yourself grace and recognize you're doing better than you think. Women often apply only when they know 90% of the job while men apply with 10% knowledge, yet men have the same confidence level. It's important to be authentic and remember everyone is faking it to some extent.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Find your community and support system early on. Lean on other women, be honest about your feelings, and connect with people in similar positions. It's crucial to have that tribe to feel at home and succeed.
