Megan Dunn is an experienced architectural designer and Job Captain at JGE Architecture + Design, where she plays a critical role in coordinating and delivering complex architectural projects. With a Master of Architecture from Boston Architectural College and a BFA in Animation from the Art Institute of Boston, Megan brings both technical expertise and creative vision to her work. Prior to joining JGE, Megan held key roles at respected firms such as SGA and Fennick McCredie Architecture. Her portfolio includes transportation, commercial, and office renovation projects, where she contributed to everything from construction documents and code analysis to consultant coordination and interior finish development. Megan has also been actively involved in office initiatives, including ARE study groups and professional development forums, highlighting her commitment to continued learning and mentorship within the field.

With a strong background in both design and client communication, Megan is passionate about creating spaces that balance function, aesthetics, and sustainability. Her ability to manage project deliverables while fostering positive relationships with clients and consultants makes her a valuable asset to any design team. I attribute my success to the support and collaboration of great friends and colleagues throughout my journey. Their insights, encouragement, and teamwork have played a significant role in helping me grow both personally and professionally.

The best career advice I’ve ever received is: Don’t be afraid to pivot. Every experience, even those that lead you in a new direction, brings valuable lessons and skills that you can carry forward.

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the industry is: don’t be intimidated by who’s at the table—own your seat at that table. You bring a unique perspective and value, so speak with confidence and trust in your abilities.

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges—and opportunities—in our field right now is recognizing that the industry doesn’t exist in a vacuum. External factors, especially the broader economic climate, have a significant impact on how we operate and grow. Staying adaptable and aware of these shifts is key to navigating change and finding strategic opportunities.

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me—both in my work and personal life—are community, celebrating wins (big and small), humanity, and grace. I believe in creating spaces where people feel supported, seen, and valued, and where we lead with empathy and appreciation for one another.
