Her Story
About Megan
I've been in dentistry for 18 years, starting at the very bottom as a sterilization technician. I grew to really love the industry and knew that's where I wanted to be, so I moved up into a dental assistant on the clinical side and stayed there for quite some time. My ambitions kept growing, and I knew I wanted to grow even further in the industry, so I started venturing into the business side, which included operations - KPIs, growing offices, coaching doctors, coaching team members, and using my love and experience to create a better atmosphere for patients while making sure they're getting the best possible care. I've been on the operations side of dentistry for 12 years now. My main area of expertise is operations, and my main objective is making sure patients are satisfied and getting quality services while having a good experience, because at the end of the day, patients pay our salaries. I also monitor the KPIs and production within the practice, making sure not only are the patients having a good experience, but the production and collections are all striving and the office is continuing to see growth over growth. If you have happy patients, then the rest does itself. I've had the opportunity to train with the Dental Success Institute, attending dental summits every year from 2022 to 2025, and I've done management trainings in Kansas City, Missouri, as well as trainings in Texas and Arizona. I've also had multi-locations at one time in different states, so I have remote experience and regional experience under my belt. A lot of my training has been peer-to-peer, and I did extensive training with PDS (Pacific Dental Services) through their university program. My most notable professional achievement is probably the fact that my patients absolutely love me - I have patients come in that specifically only want to speak to me, so I would say my patient relationships with them are my biggest achievement.

Ten minutes with Megan
01What do you attribute your success to?
I would say my work ethic and the fact that I didn't come from a background that had it easy. I didn't come from a family that had much, so I think that really instilled in me an understanding that everybody is handed the same opportunity in the morning whenever you wake up. No matter what you have in life, no matter if you're rich, poor, or in between, everybody is given the exact same opportunity, but what you do with what you're handed is what matters most and where you go in life. I was not given an easy road prior to, so that really taught me that I need to be the generational curse breaker in my family, I guess I should say, and set myself aside from what my family is used to, to show my children better.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Be humble and remember why you started it in the first place.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Motherhood comes first to me, and then my career comes second. Being a good mother is my biggest passion in life - I wanted to prove to everyone as a young mother that there are still goals that you can achieve in life. I wanted my children to see that even though mom may have had them young and was a child raising a child, mom still created a career even with them. Being a devoted wife is also important to me - I just got married in November. I also value being able to help people, which is why I chose dentistry - I wanted to be part of healthcare and help others while still being able to be a mom at the same time. I love being outside, being on the water, and just enjoying the life that the Lord gave me.
