Her Interview

Ten minutes with Megan

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to hard work, stability, and the mindset that every no is just another opportunity that will eventually lead to a yes. I learned to keep getting back up no matter what, taking steps forward even when things are tough.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I received was from a former employer, Bill Osterley at Angie's List. He told me that a no is usually just another opportunity, and not to listen to people telling me I was doing it wrong when I was successful.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Knowledge is power. Know what you're talking about, and you won't feel uncomfortable in any room. Even though it's a male-dominated industry, tenacity and drive will set you apart.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges are labor shortages since people aren't knocking down doors to work, embracing changes like environmental regulations, and ensuring diversity to stand out. Knowledge of chemistries helps steer clients away from harmful options that may be regulated out.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Family, faith, honesty, kindness, and integrity are most important. Integrity means follow-through, accountability, and honesty, which fosters a better working environment.
