In her current role, Megan oversees clinical operations across 10 skilled nursing and long-term care facilities, ensuring regulatory compliance, survey readiness, and the consistent delivery of high-quality, resident-centered care. With 17 years of nursing experience and more than four years dedicated to long-term care, she has built a reputation for operational excellence, clinical leadership, and a steadfast commitment to improving patient outcomes across multiple facilities.

Megan began her career with Genesis Healthcare in February 2022 as a Unit Manager before quickly advancing to Director of Nursing, where she led clinical teams and strengthened operational performance. She later served as a Clinical Lead overseeing on-site operations for seven buildings before assuming her current market-wide leadership role in October 2025. Prior to joining Genesis, she gained valuable experience in hematology, oncology, and acute care while serving as a Clinical Supervisor at Shore Medical Center. She earned an Associate in Applied Science (RN) from Atlantic Cape Community College in 2009 and has been recognized for her outstanding patient care with both the internationally recognized DAISY Award and the Guardian Angel Award.

Throughout her career, Megan has remained dedicated to fostering a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and clinical excellence. She believes that understanding every aspect of one's role, asking thoughtful questions, and anticipating the long-term impact of decisions are essential to professional growth and exceptional patient care. Guided by the values of honesty, integrity, and hard work, she encourages aspiring nurses to embrace lifelong learning and never hesitate to seek knowledge. Outside of her professional responsibilities, she enjoys spending time at the beach, taking cruises, and creating lasting memories with family and friends.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Megan

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my commitment to understanding every aspect of my career and my continuous desire to learn and grow. I believe that developing comprehensive knowledge of my role, while maintaining the foresight to anticipate how different factors influence future outcomes, enables me to make informed decisions, adapt to change, and consistently deliver meaningful results.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to never expect someone to do something that I’m not willing and able to do myself. That mindset has taught me the importance of leading by example, earning trust through my actions, and demonstrating the same level of commitment and accountability that I expect from others.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to never assume you know everything and never be afraid to ask questions. Stay curious, remain open to learning, and embrace every opportunity to grow. Every day offers a chance to gain new knowledge, develop new skills, and become a stronger professional.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is the decline in work ethic, along with a growing sense of entitlement and a lack of genuine care for others. At the same time, the opportunities are endless because healthcare is constantly evolving. Advances in new medications, treatments, and technologies create continuous opportunities to learn, improve patient care, and make a meaningful impact in the lives of others.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are honesty, integrity, and hard work. I believe that being truthful, acting with strong ethical principles, and consistently giving my best create the foundation for meaningful relationships, lasting trust, and long-term success.
