Megan Koch

I've been in education since 2009, and in the state of Iowa, I've been doing my job since 2015. My main area of expertise is education with a focus on early childhood education and leadership, but also English language arts, because so much goes into children and words - reading and words - and everything starts from reading and understanding words. I take that time to work with those building blocks at a young age, and then also see and check in with them at various stages, just to make sure that they have that chance to understand the world that's around them. I've had the opportunity to work with a variety of age groups, and the biggest thing has been taking the time to learn and understand and look at how people learn and think about the world differently, and use that to help differentiate things so everyone has an opportunity to learn. I've had the opportunity to grow and learn with some of the best educators in the area and develop professional relationships where I've had that mentorship. The experience that you earn when you're in the field is something that's not replaceable, and being able to work with students and understand that thought process and the teaching methods that we're taught in school and we talk about as professionals is invaluable.
