About Megan
I originally worked in the medical field, then spent time in the nightlife industry, but as I got older I decided it was time to either go back to medical or pursue my passion for legal work. One day I just woke up, sold everything I owned, and moved to New York with a duffel bag and my dog to start over from scratch. I had to get my foot in the door at a law firm making a little over minimum wage, and living in New York City on that salary when you're used to six figures was really hard. I was budgeting carefully and living off my savings. I obtained all the special certificates to further my career in the field and started growing up the ladder. Then I realized law firms were employing third parties to do investigative work, sign-up work, and document preparation, and I thought I could do that myself. I formulated my own LLC and while working at that law firm, I talked them into retaining my LLC after hours and on weekends instead of the company they were using. They agreed and started sharing my company with other law firms. Now I work fully remote from home, contracted through law firms doing investigative work and document production. I really love it. I love advocating for the most vulnerable, which is something I've always been passionate about since high school. I remember when I was a senior and they asked what your one life goal was, and I said I want to make a difference and help people. It makes me happy that I do that every day. Now I work for myself, make my own hours and schedule, and it's really a blessing.
