Her Interview
Ten minutes with Megan
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the principles of servant leadership that I developed during my time with Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity, where I served as both class president and chapter president. That experience taught me the importance of supporting and empowering others. I truly love what I do, and that passion is reflected in my work. By serving my team and our patients, I believe I create an environment where excellence can thrive.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is to speak up and use my voice when I see something that is not right or when someone is not being treated fairly. I believe we should advocate for others the way we would want someone to advocate for us. As a leader, I strive to ensure every member of my team is treated with the same respect, fairness, and support that I would want for myself.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering healthcare is to be confident, use your voice, and do not be afraid to speak up. Women in leadership roles are sometimes judged for being too outspoken or passionate, but those qualities are often what drive progress and create meaningful change. Your perspective matters, and advocating for yourself, your team, and your patients is an essential part of becoming an effective leader.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the greatest opportunities I have in healthcare is the ability to positively influence the culture and mindset of the industry. Healthcare professionals continue to face burnout, heavy workloads, and feeling underappreciated, and I believe leaders have an opportunity to make a difference by recognizing, supporting, and valuing their teams. Every day, I strive to show appreciation and remind my team that their work matters.
At the same time, one of the biggest challenges is addressing staffing shortages and the ongoing demands placed on healthcare workers. As we prepare to open a new office, I am focused on not only recruiting and training new team members but also helping them develop a passion for the work we do. My goal is to build a team culture where people feel supported, valued, and inspired to provide exceptional care to our patients.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me, both personally and professionally, are authenticity, integrity, and fairness. I believe in staying true to myself, my character, and my values, even when faced with challenging situations. Being genuine with my team and allowing them to know who I am has helped me build trust and meaningful relationships. I strive to always do what is right, treat others with respect, and make decisions that are fair and aligned with my principles.
