Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a combination of creativity, perseverance, and the incredible support system around me. My creative pursuits, such as jewelry making and painting, have fueled my passion and drive, and I hope to one day share my work on platforms like Etsy. Staying committed to my health and fitness through weightlifting, Peloton, and walking has also played a key role in maintaining balance and energy in my life. One of my greatest personal accomplishments has been welcoming my twins at the age of 48, an experience that continues to inspire me every day. Above all, I am deeply grateful for my husband, Dennis McGiboney, whose unwavering support, encouragement, and partnership have been a constant source of strength, motivation, and guidance throughout my journey.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is closely tied to the incredible mentors and inspirations in my life. My late mother, Alberta Thomas, always encouraged me to pursue my creative passions and further my education in the arts, recognizing my potential and talent from an early age. My late Gregory Thomas, 12 years my senior and also in the art and design industry, was another guiding inspiration as I grew up. Kimberly Maya, who first brought me into the gaming industry, has been both a professional mentor and a cherished friend, supporting and inspiring me at every step. I am also grateful to Kelsey Foster, Director-turned-VP at my company, who has fostered an uplifting and creative environment in which I have been able to thrive. Their guidance, belief in me, and dedication to creativity have shaped my career journey, fueled my passions, and inspire me to engage with and uplift young readers and members of the influential women’s community.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Go for it sky's the limit. Keep your skills sharp, continue your education, and stay current with industry changes.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

In both my work and personal life, I value creativity, dedication, and growth. In my downtime, I enjoy exploring whatever creative ventures inspire me in the moment, including jewelry making, beading, painting, and collecting pins to craft meaningful gifts and festive displays for friends and family. I also prioritize staying active and maintaining my physical fitness through weightlifting and Peloton workouts. Welcoming my twins at the age of 48 stands as my greatest personal accomplishment; they are the light of my life and continually inspire me to be my best self, while encouraging me to provide them with the guidance and inspiration to reach their fullest potential.
