Her Interview
Ten minutes with Megan
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the incredible supervisors I have had throughout my career. Their guidance, encouragement, and leadership have helped me grow professionally and develop the skills and confidence necessary to take on new opportunities and responsibilities.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have received is to take the job even if I do not check all the boxes. That advice has encouraged me to recognize opportunities for growth, be willing to step outside my comfort zone, and understand that I do not need to meet every qualification before taking on a new challenge.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is to seek out jobs they genuinely enjoy. Finding work that is meaningful and personally fulfilling can help build a sustainable and rewarding career. I encourage the next generation to pursue opportunities that align with their interests and values.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is funding. Sustainable funding is important to maintaining programs and services that support vulnerable children and families. It also affects the ability of organizations to continue developing and providing the resources and community partnerships needed to serve families effectively.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity is one of the most important values to me, both professionally and personally. I believe in approaching my work and relationships with honesty, accountability, and a strong commitment to doing what is right.
