Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success first and foremost to my faith in God and my commitment to live a life that honors Him. Striving to lead with humility, integrity, and purpose guides how I serve others and approach my work. From that foundation, I bring a teacher’s mindset, a heart for connection, and a passion for building thoughtful solutions that bridge people to opportunity. I believe God provides the direction, strength, and opportunities, and I am called to steward those blessings well, through creativity, resilience, and a genuine care for those I work alongside.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received comes down to two things: first, to greet everyone with love, because kindness and respect open doors that skill alone cannot. Second, to never disagree with leadership publicly, important conversations deserve respect, discretion, and the right setting. Addressing concerns privately builds trust, preserves relationships, and allows for more honest and productive dialogue.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to trust yourself and take initiative. You don’t have to share every idea with everyone or wait for permission to begin—if you see an opportunity or a problem to solve, lean into it and act. Confidence grows through action, and your voice and perspective matter more than you may realize.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

As I launch my new business, HeyWilma, the biggest challenge right now is building brand visibility while generating strong, aligned leads to secure our Founding Partners. Establishing awareness and trust early is critical, and it requires consistent storytelling, strategic outreach, and relationship-building. At the same time, this challenge presents an opportunity to clearly communicate our mission, demonstrate impact, and form partnerships that help shape the foundation and future of the organization.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity, grace, and having a genuine heart guide everything I do, both professionally and personally. I believe in showing up with honesty, kindness, and respect in every interaction. I also value balance—making time for friends and family, enjoying time at the beach, staying active through fitness training sessions, and unwinding through reading and sometimes refurbishing furniture. These rhythms keep me grounded, energized, and able to give my best to the people and work I care about.
