Her Interview

Ten minutes with Megan

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my experience in the accounting profession and my ability to understand and relate to clients and their needs. Building strong relationships and making meaningful connections have been central to my career. I also see myself as a bridge between our products, internal teams, and customers, helping ensure that each side understands the others’ needs and perspectives.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have received is to clearly identify and write down what is important to me, and then make sure the company I work for aligns with and supports those priorities. Understanding what matters most personally and professionally helps me make intentional decisions about my career and the organizations I choose to be part of.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would encourage young women entering the industry to intentionally make space for the things that matter most to them. Set healthy boundaries, establish clear priorities, and define meaningful goals. Being deliberate about how you balance your professional ambitions with the other important parts of your life can help you build a career that is both successful and sustainable.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest opportunities in accounting right now is the growing interest in artificial intelligence. People are excited about what AI can make possible, but there is also understandable hesitation around adopting new technology. As AI becomes more integrated into accounting workflows, it is important to ensure that the work and deliverables remain complete, accurate, and dependable for clients. The opportunity is to use AI thoughtfully while maintaining the professional judgment and quality standards that clients rely on.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Being present is one of the most important values to me. When I am working, I want to be fully engaged and create space to focus on the people and responsibilities in front of me. When I am home, I want to be equally present for my family. I also value surrounding myself with people I genuinely enjoy who challenge me, value me, and encourage me to continue growing and becoming better.
