About Megan
Megan Sohns is a senior operations leader in the early childhood education industry with nearly two decades of experience developing high-performing teams, strengthening organizational culture, and driving operational excellence. As Regional Director at Yellow Brick Road Early Childhood Development Center, she oversees multi-site operations, partnering with executive leadership to translate strategic vision into consistent execution across people, enrollment, compliance, and performance. She is passionate about mentoring leaders, building accountability, and creating systems that enable organizations to grow while maintaining a people-first culture.
Sohns began her leadership journey in childcare operations in 2016, progressing through roles that included Site Director and Leadership Development Director before assuming regional oversight. She also brings experience in business development, human resources, and workforce planning, providing a well-rounded perspective on organizational growth and sustainability. A graduate of Saint Xavier University with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, she continues to play a key role in expanding access to high-quality early childhood education, including supporting the launch of new childcare centers serving infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children throughout Minnesota.
Known for her integrity, collaborative leadership style, and commitment to developing others, Sohns believes a leader's greatest success is measured by the success of the people they serve. She credits her mother with inspiring the confidence to pursue ambitious goals and has built her career around empowering others to reach their full potential. Outside of work, she volunteers on her church's worship team and values spending quality time with her family, reflecting the same people-centered approach that defines her professional life.

01What do you attribute your success to?
Watching my mom work hard and give grace gave me fearlessness to do anything I set my mind to. She encouraged me without negativity.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Integrity is what matters most - do the right thing no matter who's watching. Your team's success is your success as a leader; blow wind into other people's sails.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
You can do anything and you can do hard things. Don't allow challenges to crush your spirit or defeat you. Go find resources, ask questions, and learn everything you can.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Childcare industry in Minnesota facing fraud schemes creating mistrust and stigma. Reputation damage makes families fearful, but opportunity to provide safe, faith-based care and build credibility through integrity.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity above all else - do the right thing always. Family is everything; everything we do should feed and enhance our family.
