About Megan

Megan Witmer serves as an Account Manager at World Travel, Inc., a corporate travel management company, where she oversees travel programs for high-spend corporate clients. She works remotely from Pennsylvania and occasionally visits the office for meetings. Over her 13-year career in the industry, Witmer began in an entry-level support agent role handling failed online reservations, advanced to supervisor of that department, and later managed two departments including the support team and hotel pay team. She then moved into a customer service representative position focused on vendor issues before taking on client accounts, a role she has held for over two years since February 2024. In her current position, she manages client relationships, implements program changes, and negotiates contracts with vendors such as airlines, hotels, and car services. Witmer holds a high school diploma and earned a Certified Travel Agent certificate from IAP college. She attributes her professional success to her passion and dedication, noting that she worked hard to earn promotions by mastering every aspect of her roles. Witmer values family, work-life balance, dedication, and loyalty, which she demonstrates through her long tenure at the company.

Ten minutes with Megan

01What do you attribute your success to?

My success comes from my passion and dedication. I worked very hard to get promotions like the supervisor and manager roles. When I got the supervisor role, I was ecstatic because I had worked my way into knowing every aspect of that role and I just love to be able to manage it. I worked super hard to get there.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've received is to focus on yourself and do your very best every day.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Do your best every day, don't give up, and if you feel like you can reach something, go for it. Work and perseverance will get you there. Have confidence in yourself and you'll get to where you want to go. I never really thought I'd get to the role that I am, but here I am.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Travel is changing every day so it can be challenging to keep up, but there's always opportunities to learn more.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Family is most important, along with having that work-life balance. I value not overstressing. At work, I'm a dedicated and loyal person, which is why I've been at my company for 13 years. Everything in my life is important and I'm dedicated.
