Her Interview

Ten minutes with Meghan

01What do you attribute your success to?

I think that it's pure determination. You have to go in and want to succeed every day. Every day, it's a choice to succeed.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

It's actually from my little brother. Sometimes sales can be brutal, working with different personalities can be brutal, and it can get disheartening sometimes. You know, cause, there's a lot of competition, and my brother told me, you go in every day and be the best that you can be, so that, people have nothing to say about you but anything good. It's mischief with a smile.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

To women entering the industry, I would say it can be very fast-paced, it can be brutal, but you can do it. You go in every day and do your best. And you are just as capable as anybody else in the room.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Opportunities in my industry is that there is always room to grow. Signet Jewelers is a very large company with a great company culture. If I choose, I can continue to move up. Challenges would definitely be working with some of the different personalities between management. So I came in from outside, I wasn't as tenured, so I have had to build my own credibility.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty and integrity, very much in my professional life. In sales, there's a lot of people that will try to like just kind of fast talk you into something. I'm very much into helping my customer. In the jewelry business, I love it because we get to be part of a love story. So, I really want to find what works for my customer. I want to be transparent, and honest in everything. In my personal life, it's very much similar. It's love and respect. Tere's a rule in my house, we speak to each other with love and respect.
