Meghan Burghardt

Meghan Burghardt serves as Clinical Liaison, a role she has held for 7 years after more than 12 years in the healthcare industry. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management from Temple University and began her career in the hotel industry before transitioning to healthcare. A friend encouraged her move into the field despite lacking a nursing background, leading her to start in admissions where she handled customer service and bed management. Burghardt advanced by opening a central intake department to streamline referrals and later secured her current position after persistence with her current company. In her role, she covers 5 facilities across Philadelphia and Montgomery Counties and works with 7 hospitals in the Philadelphia and Bucks County areas to place patients in short-term rehab or long-term care settings. She finds reward in helping patients regain strength and return home to their families. On a personal level, Burghardt has participated in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life for over 13 years and supports American Red Cross blood drives through her company. She advises women entering the industry to consider career changes, persist in advancing, pursue further education if desired, and seek companies willing to take a chance on them.
