Her Interview

Ten minutes with Meghann

01What do you attribute your success to?

My father put me in technology classes from a young age even though I hated it at the time. I always seek out mentors and have never been told no when asking successful people to mentor me. Reputation is everything in this small IT community.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received is that reputation matters, and every decision I make can have a lasting impact on my professional future. In the IT industry, where the community is relatively small, maintaining a strong reputation through integrity and sound decision-making is essential.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I encourage young women to embrace artificial intelligence and recognize that women are just as capable as men in the industry. Invest in your education, put in the effort, and don’t be afraid to experiment, make mistakes, and learn from them. Seek out mentors, attend local industry events, and build meaningful professional connections to support your growth and success.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I see AI as a major opportunity to improve government services and organizational efficiency. The challenge is ensuring responsible implementation through security, education, and accountability. Women in technology have an opportunity to help shape AI’s future.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I value integrity, accountability, and trust in everything I do. I believe in continuous learning, mentorship, and collaboration, while balancing career goals with family and public service. For me, true success means making a positive difference in the lives of others.
