Mei Walia

Mei Walia is an accomplished insurance executive with nearly 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. Her career began in China in 1993 at Pingyan Insurance Company, where she worked as an underwriting trainee for ocean cargo insurance for two years. After moving to the United States in 1995 and earning her Master of Science in Information Systems from Pace University in 1998, she entered the US insurance brokerage field. She started at Professional Risk Managers in Westchester County, New York, specializing in construction insurance, advancing from Assistant Account Manager to Marketing Manager. She has since held various marketing leadership roles, including marketing director and marketing team lead, at brokerage firms in New York. Mei currently serves as Placement Manager for New York Construction at Acrisure East, leading a team of nine placement specialists and assistants. Her focus is on new business and renewal marketing for New York construction risks. She holds certifications as a Certified Insurance Counselor and Certified Risk Manager.
