What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to perseverance and hard work, which come from overcoming adversity throughout my life. Those personal experiences taught me resilience and gave me the drive to excel in an industry that isn’t always easy.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
To young women entering technical fields, especially in male-dominated industries like oil and gas, I always advise pursuing technical degrees and certifications to build a strong foundation. I also stress the importance of maintaining integrity, being proactive in career development, and avoiding workplace dynamics that could harm one’s reputation. Protecting your name and earning respect through knowledge and work ethic are keys to long-term success.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my career has been working in a male-dominated industry. I’ve faced moments of gender bias and skepticism, but I’ve learned to lean on my expertise and experience to command respect. It hasn’t always been easy, but it has been worth it.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Both personally and professionally, I value giving back. I’m proud to be involved with Mission Messiah, a nonprofit in West Texas that helps women overcome addiction and trauma. Mentoring women and seeing them succeed—whether it’s opening a business or earning advanced degrees—has been one of the most rewarding parts of my journey. Outside of work, I enjoy design and collecting unique pieces, like a set of antique French chairs I recently found. I also value conversations about wealth distribution, tax strategies, and, above all, the principle that hard work pays off.
