Her Story
About Melanie
Melanie MacEacheron is the Regional Marketing Coordinator at Tailored Remodeling, a company that partners with Home Depot stores to install remodeling projects such as bathrooms and windows across Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Kansas. In this position, she leads graphic design efforts for marketing materials, including flyers, announcements, and in-store end-cap displays, while also managing the hiring, training, and onboarding of brand ambassadors who represent the company at trade shows and community events. Her specialization spans graphic design, public speaking, and staff development, skills she has sharpened over roughly seven years working in marketing.
MacEacheron's professional journey has been anything but linear. She first came to the United States from Mexico nearly a decade ago as an au pair through the Cultural Care program, an experience that earned her the Au Pair of the Year title domestically and international runner-up honors. From there, she moved into nonprofit work, coaching individuals and families experiencing homelessness on resume writing and job readiness, before transitioning into the branding world, where she developed promotional products and campaigns for major clients such as Corona Beer and MasterCard. Alongside this professional growth, she spent years building an independent career as a visual artist, creating reverse-painted acrylic works and cultivating a large social media following that once approached 300,000 on TikTok, until a serious accident forced her to shift focus and begin the slow process of rebuilding her fine-motor skills.
Beyond her marketing role, MacEacheron remains deeply engaged in her community. She serves as a panelist for the Oklahoma Arts Council, helping direct funding toward regional arts programs, and she painted a mural inside an Oklahoma City juvenile detention facility centered on themes of love and self-worth. She holds an ESL certification from Long Island University, studied fine arts at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and at Massachusetts College of Art and Design, and is a certified Bounce Australia trainer. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she credits much of her drive to her father's belief that growth requires seeking out bigger environments, a philosophy she continues to live by in both her career and creative pursuits.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Melanie
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the mentors and leaders who saw potential in me and gave me opportunities to grow, as well as to my own willingness to bring a diverse set of skills to every role and continuously adapt. My father's philosophy has also shaped me deeply: he always said you'll never know how big a fish can grow unless you expand the size of its bowl, and that mindset has pushed me to keep seeking bigger opportunities.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've received came from my father, who taught me that a fish cannot outgrow the bowl it's kept in. That lesson inspired me to leave home and pursue larger opportunities than what was immediately available to me, which ultimately shaped the path my career has taken.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would pass along my father's wisdom that you have to put yourself in bigger environments if you want to grow beyond your current limits. I'd also share what my occupational therapist once told me during my recovery: what determines your progress is what you do when nobody else is watching. That discipline and consistency in private effort has been essential to my own growth, both personally and professionally.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest opportunities in my field right now is the growth of retail partnerships, particularly with companies like Home Depot, which open up new in-store visibility and home-service marketing channels. On a personal and professional level, my biggest challenge has been recovering my artistic fine-motor abilities after a scooter accident in 2022, which continues to be an ongoing process.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity and honesty are the values I hold most important, both professionally and personally. I also place high importance on being useful and engaged in community-focused work, continuously learning, and practicing perseverance, self-discipline, and humility in everything I do.
