Her Story

About Melanie

I've been in this field for about 25 years now. My current role is Director of Advisor Enablement at Mariner Wealth, focusing on practice management where I coach leaders and wealth teams. I love that aha moment when I help someone think differently and unlock their potential. Before that I was at Wells Fargo doing learning and development and advanced education, and earlier in insurance at Chubb and Prudential. I have a master's from Emerson College and I'm certified in multiple coaching tools like StrengthFinders, DISC, and Talon Insights. I also hold my RCC coaching designation.

Ten minutes with Melanie

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to getting a good education, having a growth mindset, continuously investing in myself through certifications, knowing when to ask for guidance and mentoring, and putting practices in place to coach myself through challenges.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would tell them to get rid of any past notions of what they think a financial advisor is. Women make the best financial advisors because we are wired to connect emotionally, listen deeply, and hold space for clients while moving forward. The RIA space is especially good for women to have it all - career, family, and impact.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity is huge for me. Growing up in a family business, it's so important to be honest and transparent with clients. I need people to trust me quickly so we can do deep work together. Creating psychological safety and being honest with integrity are key.
