Her Interview
Ten minutes with Melanie
01What do you attribute your success to?
God, my husband, children, family, friends and my team have pushed me to be the best version of myself even when I don't feel like it. They are my motivation.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice is to be resilient. Any job comes with opposition and hard work, so stay focused on your goals. Whatever situation you're going through is temporary, not permanent, and try to be your best self every day.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Understand that when customers come in flustered or upset, it's not about you but the situation. Focus on problem solving and keep a positive attitude. Be open to change and adapting since the industry is constantly evolving. Keep a vibrant and positive attitude and you'll go far.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The main challenge is sometimes running out of vehicles due to selling them and long-term commercial rentals, but we have a proactive process to call customers in advance and new stock is coming in.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I have very strong family values and am very family-oriented, so every decision keeps my family in mind. Also important to stay ethical and positive.
