Her Interview
Ten minutes with Melanny
01What do you attribute your success to?
To be honest, I think a lot of this ties back to my Colombian background. I come from a culture where women aren’t always expected to go that far in their careers. It’s often assumed that even if you’re successful, you’ll eventually get married, have kids, and that becomes the focus, while the husband is the one who advances professionally. But that’s never been my mindset.
I’ve always been driven by growth, both in my career and personally. I naturally lean into leadership, and I think my emotional intelligence has played a big role in helping me get to where I am, especially at a relatively young age. It’s helped me learn how to manage teams, coach through challenges, and create an environment where people feel supported and motivated to do their best work.
I strongly believe in leading with transparency, accountability, and empathy. And just as important is the environment you’re in. Being somewhere that truly supports your growth makes a huge difference. Where I work, I’m fortunate to be surrounded by strong, inspiring leaders who’ve helped shape how I think about leadership.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is that great leaders create other leaders. If you want to keep growing, you have to invest in developing someone who can eventually step into your role.
That mindset really shifted my perspective early on. When I was an account manager, I was focused on being the best individually. But I quickly realized that real growth comes from helping others reach their potential too. Not only does that strengthen the team, it also pushes you to grow and become a better leader over time.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Focus on your growth and don’t let others define your limits. There may still be unspoken expectations for women, but you don’t have to follow them. Be clear about what you want and go after it.
Lean into your emotional intelligence. In Customer Success, your ability to build relationships, navigate challenges, and earn trust will set you apart just as much as your technical skills.
Don’t just focus on individual performance. Real growth comes from helping others succeed too. Support your team, share knowledge, and look for opportunities to mentor.
Choose the right environment. Being somewhere that supports your development and surrounds you with strong leaders makes a big difference.
Finally, think long term. Keep growing, and focus on becoming the kind of leader who develops others—that’s what will continue to open doors.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest opportunity in my field is using health tech and revenue cycle management to expand access to home care for underserved populations, especially seniors and veterans. Millions of veterans in the U.S. qualify for home care benefits, and helping agencies reach and support them is incredibly meaningful.
At the same time, it’s not simple. Navigating complex government payer programs while staying compliant and maintaining steady cash flow can be a real challenge for providers. That’s why our work matters so much. We don’t just bill and collect, we focus on equipping agencies with the knowledge and tools they need by connecting them with our subject matter experts, along with newsletters, webinars, social media, and other educational resources. The goal is to help them stay compliant, get paid on time, and grow with confidence while continuing to serve those who need it most.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that matter most to me, both in my work and personal life, are transparency, accountability, empathy, and creating environments that support growth and leadership.
I try to show up with honesty and take ownership in everything I do, because that’s what builds trust. Empathy is also a big part of how I work, especially when supporting providers who are navigating complex systems while caring for underserved populations like seniors and veterans.
I’m also really driven by growth, not just for myself, but for the people around me. Over time, I’ve learned that strong leadership isn’t just about individual success, it’s about helping others develop and reach their potential. That’s the kind of environment I value and try to create wherever I can.
