Meleny Perry

Meleny Perry serves as Director of Recruiting and Retention at a trucking company, a role she has held for the past two years after entering the industry in 2019. Her career began when friends dared her to pursue full-time work, leading her to start in data entry at a trucking firm. Within eight months she moved into driver relations, later becoming a recruiter and training other recruiters. After being passed over for a leadership role at her first company due to gender bias, she joined another firm where she advanced to Director of Recruiting and Retention and briefly served as General Manager. Perry completed the ATA Women in Motion mentorship program in October 2025 and remains an active member, supplementing her incomplete college education with volunteer training in speech writing, public speaking, and critical thinking skills. She emphasizes compliance, safety, and retention while consulting on tech innovations for the industry and draws strength from blue-collar family roots and male mentors who supported her advancement.
