Her Interview
Ten minutes with Melicia
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to servant leadership. When I talk about success, I'm not talking about the financial. The return of investment is very high. I make a lot of money for the companies that I work for. But again, working with people. I always take my hat off, and I decide to be a humble leader. People that want to have people that want to work for me, and the only way it is to really pay attention to the human side. We forget about that part, and we just think that they are robots, and that they can go do their job, and it doesn't work like that.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Be true to yourself. There is never a wrong answer, and lead from the heart, if you want to go to higher places. And when I say that, I also know that they have to have not just the education from the school, but the education from life, to understand that, to be able to push people to higher places, you yourself have to achieve it. Because you cannot send dogs to be eagles. You have to make sure that you understand the process.
