About Melinda
Melinda Pavin serves as coordinator for Platform for Peace and Humanity, volunteering her time on global health projects in the Mediterranean area after her previous role at USAID. She earned a bachelor's degree from the School of Education at the University of the Pacific, followed by a master's degree from Tulane School of Public Health and a PhD. Her professional path includes work with the Peace Corps in Sierra Leone and as a contractor, the CDC on disability prevention programs, Engender Health as Director of Monitoring Evaluation and Research, and positions at American Institutes for Research and as an independent consultant. Pavin has focused on health systems strengthening, family planning, maternal and child health, and monitoring and evaluation, including oversight of approximately 100 USAID evaluations. She has published articles such as one on social norms in South Sudan associated with family planning in Global Health Science and Practice.
