Melissa Allinger

I'm a therapist who sees clients ages 12 and up Monday through Friday at my practice, Mindful Aspirations, Counseling and Consulting, LLC. My journey into this field began in 5th and 6th grade when I experienced bullying because my dad's Black - they made up names, jokes, and songs about it. That experience caused me to want to be able to educate others and try to get rid of all the stigma and isms. I specialize in mood disorders including bipolar, schizophrenia, and OCD. I absolutely love what I do - if I can take part in helping someone better themselves, then I've done my job. I've built a team of 9 contract employees including an office manager, accounts manager, and therapists. I earned my master's in clinical social work from Walden University and advanced from LSW to LCSW after taking my state boards. I'm certified in anger management, mindfulness informed care, and CPI. Beyond my practice, I'm actively involved in the Sex and Drug Trafficking Committee and the Gun Violence Coalition in my community.
