Melissa's best work happens at the intersection of bold ideas and meticulous execution. She's spent her career leading brand activations, building high-performing teams, and turning strategic vision into measurable results.
What drives her work is simple: translating complex business goals into experiences that actually move people. Whether she's orchestrating multi-market activations, building digital infrastructure from the ground up, or mentoring emerging talent, she brings the same philosophy—strategy first, creativity always, results guaranteed.
She's equally comfortable leading a team of 15 across simultaneous markets or digging into the data that proves impact. Her toolkit combines creative innovation with operational precision, leveraging AI, automation, and digital platforms to streamline execution without sacrificing the human element that makes campaigns memorable.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to having a supportive partner who believes in my goals, a relentless commitment to learning and evolution, and a creative outlet that keeps me grounded. I've never stopped evolving, and neither have my skills—I'm constantly learning about things beyond my primary field of study because everything is interconnected. I have a spicy brain that craves variety, so I feed it through audiobooks, art history, AI tools, and disciplines far removed from marketing. That cross-disciplinary thinking shapes how I approach strategy, creativity, and problem-solving. My work with Charlotte Garden Club demonstrated this—building digital infrastructure from the ground up and securing over $150K in annual grants and technology value. Currently, I'm furthering my expertise by completing my master's degree, reinforcing my dedication to continuous growth and lifelong learning.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is to never stop learning. Staying curious, open to growth, and willing to adapt has allowed me to evolve with my field, sharpen my skills, and remain resilient in the face of change, while continually finding new ways to add value and advance professionally.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Define yourself on your own terms—not through someone else's expectations or limitations. The most interesting people I know or have met did not live stereotypical lives defined by societal norms. They charted their own paths, were gritty, and refused to be boxed in. You'll encounter people who try to limit you, tell you what you "should" be doing, or question your unconventional choices. Don't let that stop you. Get comfortable being the person who doesn't fit neatly into one category. Invest in yourself relentlessly—learn beyond your job description, develop skills in unexpected places, and stay curious. Most importantly, trust your instincts. You know what you're capable of before anyone else does. Live life on your terms, build something that matters to you, and never apologize for taking up space.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges and opportunities in my field right now is the intersection of creative excellence and measurable impact. Brands and organizations want bold, innovative campaigns, but they also need clear proof that creativity drives results. The opportunity lies in building frameworks that connect creative strategy to business outcomes—proving that a well-executed experiential activation or brand experience isn't just memorable, it's profitable. Additionally, there's a growing need for creative leaders who understand both the artistic vision and the operational execution required to bring ideas to life at scale. The teams that win are those that bridge creative thinking with data, logistics, and cross-functional collaboration.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life center on family, integrity, and balance. My husband and family are my foundation, guiding my decisions and motivating me to lead with purpose, compassion, and accountability. I value trust, open communication, and commitment, and I strive to bring these principles into my professional life by building meaningful relationships, delivering excellence, and maintaining a strong sense of responsibility. Balancing ambition with presence allows me to grow in my career while remaining deeply grounded in the people and relationships that matter most to me.
