About Melissa

Melissa Czap serves as Office Manager at Jeemco Inc Construction in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania. She joined the company in November 2021 as an administrative assistant supporting project managers, the office manager, financial and operations officers, and HR, before advancing to her current role. Czap earned a bachelor's degree in Human Resources and Business Management from the University of Phoenix in 2020, following her high school diploma, and holds OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certifications. Her responsibilities include office management, HR tasks such as orientations and benefits enrollment, and safety oversight involving OSHA regulations, first aid kits, trainings, and job site equipment. She has contributed to turning around the safety department and realigning accounts payable processes with Sage 100 for better financial tracking. Czap credits her growth to the patience of mentors Diana Till, Mary Pat Hansen, and Katie Long at Jeemco. She values honesty and loyalty in both her professional and personal life and advises others to slow down, be patient with themselves, and take ownership of mistakes to foster growth.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Melissa

01What do you attribute your success to?

The patience of my mentors at Jeemco, especially Diana Till, Mary Pat Hansen, and Katie Long, who have mentored me, taught me new things, and helped me grow in my career.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Slow down. When you rush things, it doesn't mean you're going to get them done right. It just means you're gonna get them done, and chances are you'll have to touch it again to correct it. So just slow down. It's okay to take the time needed.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Be patient with themselves. It doesn't all have to be figured out in one day. Keep trying, and take ownership of what mistakes you make. It's the only way you can grow.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Being patient with myself. Sometimes I know something has been explained but I still struggle to get it, and then suddenly it clicks.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty and loyalty. If you can't be honest with somebody, you can't be loyal to them, because you can't be who you are. And if you're not loyal to somebody, you can't be honest. They go hand in hand.
