About Melissa
She is a dedicated educational leader and equity advocate with over sixteen years of experience as a science teacher and administrator. Currently serving as Equity and Advancement Officer at Colonial School District, she leads diversity, inclusion, and educational equity initiatives. She previously served as Supervisor of Equity at Upper Darby School District, where she advanced district-wide equity practices and worked closely with administrators, teachers, students, and community members. Her earlier experience includes serving as Assistant Principal, Lead Teacher at The Blended Learning Center, and middle school science teacher at Beverly Hills Middle School. She was a founding member of Upper Darby's Comprehensive Deep Equity Team. She holds a degree in Biology and Secondary Education from Lincoln University and a master's degree in School Leadership from Wilmington University. Her career reflects a deep commitment to creating equitable, inclusive, and supportive learning environments for all students.
