Melissa Hernandez

Melissa Hernandez serves as Senior Manager of Inside Sales and Sales Operations at Briggs & Stratton in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. She has been with the company for 13 years, advancing from an inside sales representative to lead, supervisor, manager, and finally her current senior management role, which she expanded to include sales operations in recent months. In her position, she oversees a team of five inside sales representatives and three sales operations associates, managing the sales of standby generators while continuing to handle her own sales territory to remain grounded in the day-to-day experiences of her team. Hernandez earned a bachelor's degree in English literature with a minor in advertising from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and began pursuing a master's degree in education. Prior to joining Briggs & Stratton, she spent 11 years in resource planning and workforce management at U.S. Cellular. She is an active member of the National Association of Standby Generators and was recently recognized by the group as a woman in a male-dominated field.
