Her Story

About Melissa

Melissa Miller is a Pilates instructor and wellness coach based in Savage, Minnesota, dedicated to helping women build strength and stability through movement, breathwork, and mindful training. Her path into wellness began unexpectedly during her time as a firefighter, when she took up weightlifting to build the muscle her job demanded. After sustaining injuries on the job, she turned to mat Pilates as a way to recover, and found that it dramatically improved her stability and control, ultimately enabling her to lift heavier and move more confidently. That transformation sparked a deeper passion for movement and wellness that would go on to define her career.

Miller went on to earn her Pilates instructor license and has spent the past two and a half years teaching, both in local studios across Minnesota and through the online personal coaching business she built from the ground up. Through her programs, she offers women customized Pilates, strength training, and nutrition guidance designed to help them grow stronger and more stable as they age. Her coaching style blends control, breathwork, and progressive strength overload, always with an emphasis on keeping fitness approachable and sustainable rather than intimidating. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato, awarded in 2023, which underpins her science-based approach to training.

Outside of coaching, Miller enjoys spending time outdoors, whether she's out on the boat with her husband or simply savoring a cup of coffee on the deck. She credits her success to a genuine passion for helping women discover their own strength, and finds renewed motivation every time a client achieves something she couldn't do just months earlier. Grounded in the values of community, honesty, and authenticity, Miller believes women are stronger together, and she remains committed to transparency in her coaching so every client can achieve real, lasting results.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Melissa

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my passion and drive to genuinely help women feel their own strength. Every time a woman tells me she was able to do something she couldn't do three months earlier, that ignites my passion and keeps me motivated.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I've received is that if something scares you a little bit, you should go after it, because that fear is often the very drive you need to succeed.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would advise young women to learn as much as they can from everyone around them. It's important to stay humble, accept that you won't know everything right away, give yourself grace, and be open to learning from other professionals in the field.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I see endless opportunity for women in wellness, since there's room for all of us to succeed. That said, one of the biggest challenges is simply getting your foot in the door. I try to remind myself that every closed door is really an opportunity for redirection toward something better.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Community, transparency, honesty, and authenticity are the values I hold most important. I believe we're stronger together, and I make it a priority to be honest with my clients so they can achieve the best possible results.
