Her Story

About Melissa

Melissa Morle is a respected insurance executive with more than 15 years of experience helping businesses navigate risk and protect what matters most. She currently serves as Westchester Market President at IMA Financial Group, a role she assumed in January 2026 after serving as Commercial Lines Leader for four years. Throughout her career, Melissa has built a reputation for exceptional client service, strategic leadership, and developing strong partnerships with both clients and insurance carriers. Her guiding principle is simple: clients come first. Whether working to secure the best coverage solutions, negotiate favorable terms, or support her team, she remains focused on delivering outstanding results and long-term value. Melissa's path into the insurance industry was unexpected but ultimately rewarding. After earning her Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Finance from St. Thomas Aquinas College in 2007, she began her career in banking and finance. Following the financial crisis of 2008, she experienced multiple job losses as banking consolidations eliminated back-office positions. Seeking greater stability, she transitioned into insurance in 2011 when she joined York International Agency in its accounting department. After obtaining her Property and Casualty license in 2012, she became a broker and quickly discovered a passion for helping clients manage risk and safeguard their businesses. Over the years, she advanced through increasingly senior leadership roles, earning recognition for her expertise, dedication, and commitment to service. Outside of her professional responsibilities, Melissa is a devoted wife and mother who has been married for 12 years and is proud to be raising a daughter and son. Family plays a central role in her life, and she enjoys spending weekends attending her daughter's competitive dance events and cheering on her son's baseball games. Together, they love traveling and making lasting memories during summers spent on Long Beach Island.

Ten minutes with Melissa

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to hard work. Early in my career, I set a clear goal for myself: to keep advancing and taking on greater responsibilities. Whenever an opportunity arose for a more senior role, I worked to position myself as a strong candidate and pursued it.

I've always been extremely detail-oriented, and I believe that attention to accuracy has been a key factor in my success. I made it a priority to ensure that clients fully understood what they were purchasing and felt confident in the services being provided.

Building trust with clients leads to strong relationships, referrals, and continued growth. By combining hard work, attention to detail, and a commitment to client satisfaction, I was able to progress throughout my career and achieve my goals.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I ever received was from another working mom who told me, “Give yourself grace, it gets easier.”

At the time, I was trying to balance the demands of building my career while raising young children, and it often felt like I wasn't doing enough in either role. Her advice reminded me that every stage of motherhood and every stage of a career comes with challenges, but you learn, adapt, and grow more confident over time. As my children have gotten older, I've seen that being a working mom has taught them independence, resilience, and the value of hard work. It also taught me that success doesn't mean being perfect at everything it means showing up, doing your best, and understanding that balance looks different in every season of life. That advice helped me focus less on guilt and more on progress, both as a professional and as a parent.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would tell young women entering this industry that hard work really does pay off. If you're willing to put in the effort, stay focused, and keep learning, there are a lot of opportunities to grow and advance in your career.

I’d also encourage them to always keep the client first mentality. Building trust and creating strong relationships goes a long way, and people remember when you genuinely care about helping them. In the long run, that mindset will help you succeed. Most importantly, be confident in yourself and don’t be afraid to go after new opportunities, even if they feel a little intimidating. Some of the best growth happens when you step outside of your comfort zone.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in our industry right now is keeping up with how quickly things are changing. Clients have access to more information than ever before, so it's important to stay informed, be adaptable, and continue finding ways to provide value. At the same time, that's also one of the biggest opportunities. Technology and new tools have made it easier to connect with clients, streamline processes, and create a better overall experience. The professionals who are willing to embrace change and continue learning are the ones who will be the most successful.

No matter how much the industry evolves, though, the foundation remains the same building trust, maintaining strong relationships, and always putting the client first.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

One of the values that's most important to me, both in my work and personal life, is building genuine relationships. I believe a big part of my success has come from taking the time to get to know the people around me, especially my team. I make it a point to build one-on-one relationships and understand what motivates each person. At the end of the day, people want to work with and for someone they trust, respect, and enjoy being around. When you invest in those relationships, it creates a stronger team, better communication, and a more positive environment for everyone. Whether at work or in my personal life, I believe treating people with respect, being authentic, and building strong connections makes all the difference.
