Her Interview

Ten minutes with Melissa

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my internal drive, determination, and desire to create a positive impact. From a young age, I have always been motivated to pursue growth, achieve more for myself, and contribute meaningfully to my community. My faith has also been a guiding force, providing me with strength, purpose, and the confidence to embrace new opportunities and challenges. I remain committed to staying motivated, stepping outside of my comfort zone, and continuing to spread my wings while making a difference in the lives of others.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the industry is to believe in themselves and not allow self-doubt to hold them back. Be fearless, trust your abilities, and embrace opportunities that challenge you. At the same time, recognize the importance of seeking guidance, asking questions, and leaning on others for support. Success is not achieved alone; it takes a strong network, collaboration, and a willingness to learn from those around you to reach your full potential.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Artificial intelligence represents both a challenge and an opportunity in my field. While AI tools can enhance productivity, creativity, and access to information, there is a concern when they are used as a substitute for genuine effort, critical thinking, and skill development. I encourage students and professionals to use AI responsibly as a tool to support their learning and work, while continuing to develop their own creativity, problem-solving abilities, and independent thinking. The greatest opportunity lies in finding the right balance between leveraging technology and maintaining the human skills that drive innovation and growth.
