Her Interview
Ten minutes with Melissa
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to staying actively involved in my business, building strong relationships, and consistently managing projects, media outreach, and client needs. Leading a boutique agency with 15 employees has also taught me the importance of collaboration and knowing when to delegate.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is, “Don’t worry, you’ll land on your feet.” I’ve learned to stay positive when things don’t go as planned, keep trying, focus on what I do well and enjoy, and trust that things will work out.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is to prioritize and maintain strong professional relationships. Building genuine connections and nurturing them over time can create valuable opportunities and lasting support.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges is balancing my desire to be involved in everything with the need to stay focused. With news and social media trends constantly evolving, it can be tempting to jump in and create a new pitch, so learning to prioritize has become essential.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are building strong relationships, maintaining trust, and prioritizing client relationships. I also value educating others and sharing knowledge to help clients make informed decisions.
