About Melissa
Melissa Robbins serves as Senior Director of Community Engagement and Strategic Partnerships for the City of Philadelphia. She began her involvement in politics in 2008 with the Obama campaign and has since worked on numerous campaigns including gubernatorial, congressional, and city council races. In media, she started in 2017 as a morning radio host on Word Radio, one of the nation's few Black-owned stations, and later became a political contributor on 6ABC's Inside Story roundtable. Robbins is a US Army veteran who served four years as a medical specialist. She earned an Associate's degree in arts from the Community College of Philadelphia and a Bachelor's of Art in Broadcast Journalism from Temple University. Her honors include being honored at VetFest by City Council, recognized on Women's Day by Council President Kenyatta Johnson, and serving as a delegate for Senator Bernie Sanders in 2016. She is a member of Women in the NAACP.
