Her Story
About Melissa
I am the Team Lead of the Emissions Outbound Representative Team at Pompa Program, where I've been for about a year and six months. I lead a team of about 12 people, conducting team meetings, trainings, hiring new people, monitoring the team, conducting one-on-ones, and making sure everyone's hitting their KPIs. I also make calls myself and schedule appointments. I went to school to be a holistic nutritionist at the University of Natural Health, and I've always been into the health and wellness field. We help people get their lives back by getting to the root cause of their illness. I lead with integrity and people look up to me for advice on how to get better because I was so good at my job before I came into this role. My most notable achievement is hitting and over-exceeding sales quotas, but what really drives me is staying motivated and keeping in mind why I'm doing what I'm doing - ultimately, at the end of the day, we're helping people, and that's my passion.

Ten minutes with Melissa
01What do you attribute your success to?
I would say my passion for health and wellness, really, because it's what fuels my motivation to help people. It's what gives me the knowledge to be able to help people and help them understand that there are things out there that can help. My motivation to be healthy myself and take care of myself allows me to show up at work every day with energy and being able to not have health issues standing in the way of my work.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've ever received is to believe something happened before it happens. Because if you're in the mindset of success, and you already believe that you're successful, you will be successful. It's been really helpful, and it works.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say to make sure that you stay grounded and humble, and at the end of the day, realize that you're here to help people. Because if you mix sales and health, it can sometimes get confusing, so just staying grounded and making sure that you remember each day why you're here, and then everything else kind of falls in place.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge is really getting people out of the illness mindset, because they can't fully grasp that they can heal. They've been told their whole life that they just have to be on this medication the rest of their life, and it's not curable. So getting them out of that mindset is really difficult. As for opportunities, there's just so many more sick people in the world today, and it just gets worse and worse every day. The opportunity is that there's so many people that need help, and we're growing every day, so we'll be able to help more and more people.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I would say being very family-oriented and keeping a small circle are important to me. Health and wellness is so important - I share my knowledge with other people that are close to me so I can make sure that they stay healthy as well.
