Melissa Smolk

Melissa Smolk is the founder of Coin Error Expert, a U.S.-based platform she developed and deployed independently after years of unemployment. The AI-powered site allows users to photograph U.S. coins or banknotes to detect errors such as double dies or wrong planchets, and to identify fancy serial numbers including birthday notes and trinity notes by cross-referencing multiple high-end verification sites. She built and deployed the working website on Google Cloud Run despite having no prior skills in web development or related technologies. Previously, she advanced from customer service representative to trainer and supervisor at VIN Verified, where she handled both training and supervisory duties. She has also worked in educational settings as a substitute, kitchen helper, classroom aide, and secretary. Melissa Smolk credits her progress to an unwavering dedication and determination that cannot be taught.
