Elita (McCormick) Griffis is a dedicated Case Manager with Meridian Healthcare, where she supports clients through behavioral health services with compassion, structure, and a commitment to positive outcomes. With a strong background in psychology and hands-on experience in care coordination, she brings a focused, client-centered approach to every interaction. Melita is currently completing her Behavioral Health Case Manager License, further strengthening her expertise in the field.
Before joining Meridian Healthcare, Melita built experience across family therapy and case management roles, developing a strong foundation in assessment, crisis support, and client advocacy. Her work has been anchored in helping individuals navigate mental health challenges while connecting them to the resources and support systems needed to thrive. Her educational foundation includes a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Saint Leo University, which continues to inform her evidence-based, empathetic approach to care.
Alongside her healthcare career, Melita has also launched a new venture as a real estate investor, focusing on rehab properties and off-market homes. This entrepreneurial path reflects her drive to diversify her skills, build long-term opportunities, and contribute to community revitalization. What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the strength and perspective I’ve gained from my daughter and our family’s life experiences. They’ve shaped my resilience, kept me grounded, and motivated me to keep growing—both personally and professionally.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to lead with care and compassion, and always meet people exactly where they are. Stay productive, stay focused, and keep pushing yourself to grow. Strive to be the best you can be—and never stop reaching for the stars.
