About Melody

Melody Christian is a Senior Account Executive for SMB with Comcast Business, based in Atlanta, Georgia. With more than 15 years in sales, she specializes in business-to-business telecom and technology sales, focusing on building long-term relationships and acting as a solution partner rather than pursuing transactions. Melody began her career after earning an associates degree and later a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Administration, pivoting from an initial interest in computer science. She spent eight years at T-Mobile, starting as a sales coordinator and new business analyst before advancing to strategic sales for business, where she managed indirect dealer locations across Georgia and helped launch Metro by T-Mobile sites in Knoxville and Nashville. Prior to her current role, she supervised residential connectivity sales at Spectrum. Melody also holds an Agile certification and has earned quarterly awards at T-Mobile as well as the Comcast Standard Award for Q1 and Q2 of last year in the regional South. She attributes her success to her parents' support, her perspective on serving small business owners, especially minorities and women, and her emphasis on integrity, honesty, sincerity, and transparency. Outside of work, Melody participates in breast cancer awareness walks and rescues and rehomes stray animals.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Melody

01What do you attribute your success to?

My parents have always supported me in anything that I set out to do. My environment seeing the struggles of different small business owners, especially minority or women starting businesses. My perspective on selling - not looking for the sale but the filling after the sale, being a solution partner rather than a salesperson.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Sales can be difficult. It can be a challenge. But if you are sincere, and genuine to yourself, you will always succeed.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The challenge is that telecom and technology is oversaturated with many companies doing the same thing. The opportunity lies in doing it the right way, fitting customers properly, understanding technology on the ground floor, and the personal touch which will always win.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity is number one, which comes with honesty. Honesty is a deal-breaker. Sincerity and transparency. As a New Yorker, I'm a straight shooter - don't walk around in a circle, just tell it like it is.
