Her Interview

Ten minutes with Meme

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success and deep internal self-confidence to the unwavering belief my parents had in me from the very beginning. Growing up, I never doubted for a single second that I was deeply loved and entirely capable of achieving whatever I set out to do. Because of that foundation, I never viewed the professional landscape as a "man's world" that I had to nervously fit into, even when I was the only woman in the room. That deeply rooted confidence has allowed me to approach major career milestones with an innate belief in my own potential.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received is to always bring your authentic self to your work. Throughout my career, I have seen many women feel the need to alter their personality, demeanor, or leadership style in order to stand toe-to-toe with men in competitive fields. The most powerful thing you can do is refuse to conform to someone else's mold. Showing up authentically allows you to lead with genuine authority, leveraging your true strengths to make a lasting impression.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My primary piece of advice is to never second-guess your capabilities. There is a well-known tendency, especially among women, to feel that we must check every single box on a list of requirements before declaring ourselves qualified for an opportunity. Break out of that mindset. Trust your foundation, step forward confidently, and recognize that your unique expertise and leadership are more than enough to earn your place at the table.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

In healthcare board and advisory service, the landscape is shifting at a rapid pace. Organizations are facing a demanding environment shaped by escalating operational costs, intensifying compliance requirements, and heightened risk factors. The core challenge for board members and advisors is to stay anticipating these shifts rather than merely reacting to them. The ultimate opportunity lies in helping healthcare organizations navigate these hurdles proactively - balancing strict risk management with forward-thinking innovation to measurably improve the patient experience and deepen community impact.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

My foundational core values center on family, intentional relationships, and assuming good intent. Being a true friend, a dedicated mother, a bonus mom, and a supportive wife is incredibly important to me, and I actively invest in protecting and nurturing those relationships. Professionally and personally, I make it a point to assume positive intent from others until proven otherwise. This mindset has been an invaluable asset in leadership, allowing me to inspire teams, build immediate trust, and collaborate effectively. Finally, I believe in doing what you love; life is far too short to dedicate your energy to paths that do not bring you genuine fulfillment.
