About Meredith
Meredith Berglund serves as the General Manager for Rhino Sports and Entertainment for the University of Illinois account, a position she assumed in March 2026. Her responsibilities include recruiting, training, and onboarding staff for athletic events, such as football games requiring over 415 personnel, as well as graduations and marathons. Prior to this, she gained extensive experience in athletics through internships and roles at the University of North Carolina, where she worked as an on-campus recruiting assistant for football, and at Purdue University, where she served as a student recruiting assistant, interned in the Athletic Communications Office, assisted with Big Ten Media Days, and later became the assistant director of recruiting strategy for football. Berglund earned her bachelor's degree from Purdue University in May 2024 from the Brian Lamb School of Communication with a concentration in strategic communications.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Take time for yourself and don't be afraid to find other hobbies outside of your career because your career is really important but don't let it become your identity. Hard work gets you through the door but determination and skill keeps you in your position.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
It's about who you know not what you know. Stay connected, make connections, don't say no, step out of your comfort zone, be a yes girl, be outgoing, show your personality and skill confidently.
