About meredith

Meredith Johnson is a clinical therapist and psychotherapist with over 30 years of experience specializing in child welfare. She supervises staff who work with families involved in the child protection system and also practices as a therapist at a local clinic. Johnson began her career after earning a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and minority studies from Northeastern University in 1991, initially working at the Massachusetts Attorney General's office before transitioning to child welfare and pursuing a master's degree in social work with a concentration in urban leadership. She attributes her success to her upbringing and values honesty and integrity above all. In addition to her professional roles, Johnson chairs the diversity committee known as the Humanities Committee in Bloomfield, Connecticut, and founded the Dolls House Foundation, a nonprofit that has provided over $14,000 in micro-grants to those in need over the past 13 years. She advises others to avoid burning bridges, remain continuous learners, and surround themselves with both young people and elders to stay pliable.
