Over the years, Mia has progressed through roles from Inside Sales Representative to Clinical Account Manager and Regional Account Manager, now managing her own territory and training new hires. Mia’s commitment to improving brain health is personal as well as professional. Inspired by her family’s experiences with illness, she has dedicated her career to helping others and giving back to communities in need. What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a lifelong passion for helping others and a desire to give back to families facing health problems. I was inspired to make a difference in people’s lives, which ultimately led me into medical sales. My journey included studying marriage and family therapy, working in hospitality as a bartender and restaurant manager and gaining diverse experiences that shaped my skills in communication, leadership, and relationship-building. Today, I focus on the importance of detecting mild cognitive impairment sooner. I am combining my passion for helping people with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in healthcare.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is to prioritize happiness and fulfillment in my work. I believe that as long as I am doing what I love, success and satisfaction will naturally follow. This perspective has guided my professional decisions, encouraging me to pursue opportunities that align with my passions, values, and strengths, and reminding me that true career growth comes from enjoying the journey as much as achieving the milestones.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
The advice I would give to young women entering my industry is that anything is possible. I encourage them to believe in their abilities, take bold steps toward their goals, and embrace challenges as opportunities for growth. By staying confident, resilient, and true to themselves, they can break barriers, create meaningful impact, and shape a successful and fulfilling career on their own terms.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges and opportunities in my field right now is effectively managing accounts while truly helping people. Balancing administrative responsibilities with providing meaningful support requires organization, attention to detail, and strong communication skills. At the same time, it presents an opportunity to build trust, create lasting relationships, and make a real difference in people’s lives by guiding them through important decisions and ensuring their needs are met.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are curiosity, balance, and a zest for new experiences. I love exploring the world through travel, trying new foods, and embracing activities like pickleball and the gym to stay active and energized. These passions reflect my belief in staying open to new opportunities, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and approaching life and work with enthusiasm, positivity, and a willingness to grow.
