About Mia

Mia Howard is the founder of Inclusive Mental Health LLC, a private therapy practice based in Teaneck, New Jersey. She established the practice five years ago after working as a college professor of education. As a clinical social worker, Howard has been in the mental health field since 2008, when she graduated with her MSW. Her practice provides therapy to people of all ages, backgrounds, beliefs, and abilities, with a focus on trauma, LGBT+ issues, and children. She also serves clients in Massachusetts and Delaware. Howard holds three master's degrees: one in clinical psychology from Adelphi University, one in social work, and one in education from Bank Street College. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and Psi Chi, the honor society for psychologists. Howard attributes her success to perseverance and resilience, having learned from her mistakes and getting back up after setbacks. She values equality for all living beings, including animals, and believes kindness is paramount. Her advice to young women entering the field is to prioritize self-care in this demanding profession.
